Storytimes at GPL – Choose One That’s Right for You!
Storytimes Are In Session! Read All About Them…
We offer a variety of storytimes to fit your needs. Please remember that when the Guilderland School District is not in session, storytimes are not held. When schools are closed due to weather or other special conditions, we do not hold storytimes. When schools are delayed, morning storytimes are cancelled but afternoon and evening ones go on as scheduled.
Registration for the spring sessions of Baby Bounce, Toddler Time and Wednesday Registered Storytime, begins January 2 for Guilderland School District residents. Registration for non-residents continues on January 5.
Baby Bounce is a registered storytime for babies ages 6-18 months. Baby Bounce is held on Thursday mornings at 10:15 am. Guilderland residents will have another opportunity to sign up for the spring session on January 2, 2012. Registration continues for all others on January 5.
Baby Playtime Families with babies between the ages of birth to 18 months are invited to this unstructured free-play time. Come and enjoy the company of other moms, dads, and caregivers while your babies play and make new friends. We will provide toys, books and music for you to enjoy together. Since parents with babies have many questions about their new roles, the first 15 minutes of playtime will include information focused on the needs and wants of new parents. No registration is required, just drop in!
Playtime is held after Baby Bounce and on the following dates at 10:15 am: January 5 and 19, February 2 and 16, March 8 and 22, April 5 and 26, May 10.
Toddler Time is a registered storytime for toddlers ages 19-36 months. Toddler Time is held on Monday mornings at 10:15 am and 11 am. Registration for the spring session will begin January 2, 2012 for Guilderland residents and January 5 for all others.
Toddler Playtime will be held at 10:15 am on January 16, February 20, March 19, and April 9. Registration is not required.
Drop-in Storytime is for preschool children and their caregivers. Babies and toddlers are also welcome! No registration required. Just come and join us for stories, songs, movement and more! Drop-in storytimes are held on Mondays at 6:30 pm, Wednesdays at 11:00 am (in the Normanskill Room), Thursdays at 1 pm, and Fridays at 10:30 am.
Registered Storytime is for children ages 3 1/2 to 5 years old. Boys and girls attend without a caregiver. They meet new friends and stay with the same group until May. Regsitered storytimes are held on Tuesdays at 10:30 am, and Wednesdays at 10:30 am. There is still room in our Wednesday morning registered storytime.
Sensory Storytime is geared to children with sensory integration issues on the Autism Spectrum and their families. Siblings are welcome. This is a drop-in storytime. It is held once a month on Wednesday at 6:30 pm. The dates for our Spring session are: January 4, February 1, February 29, March 28 and April 25.
