The Guilderland Public Library is the place for Tweens in town to meet, have fun and share interests. We have programs geared toward what’s hot in the tween world. We order the books, DVDs, music, video games, and other resources that tweens crave. How do we stay on top of the hottest trends in the lives of busy 8-12 year-olds? Tween Librarian, Debbie Sternklar gathers input from real live tweens here in the library. You can contact her at sternklard@guilpl.org if you can’t stop by.
Read more about the Tween Advisory Board (TAB) if you would like to share your leadership skills by helping to plan events with Ms. Sternklar. TAB has been responsible for great clubs and events, like the creation of the Lego Club, and the Tween ReadAthon held last April.
Tween Advisory Board – TAB
Who is TAB?
The Tween Advisory Board, or TAB, is a group of tweens who want to be involved in the library. New members are always welcome.
What does TAB do?
TAB plans activities for tweens in the library. We can dream up programs like videogame tournaments, book clubs, craft activities, or mystery parties. You can voice your opinion about the kinds of books, movies, or other materials you would like us to purchase for the library.
Why should I join TAB?
Mostly, you should join because it’s fun. Also, if you love the library and want a say in what goes on here, this is the perfect way to make your voice heard. Even if you just want a place to hang out with your friends, the more TAB members we have, the more we can plan and the more stuff you have to do with your friends.
How do I join?
Fill out a Tween Advisory Board Application and Survey and return it to the Youth Services Desk. You’ll be put on the e-mail list to be contacted for our next TAB meeting. Anyone interested is welcome to join TAB at any time during the year. Still have questions? Call Ms Sternklar at 456-2400 x9

Tweens are welcome to e-mail book suggestions to be posted!
